19 days...where did the time go!!!

Yes, my intention of this blog was to keep everyone updated in the wedding planning process, but we'll just say that the last few weeks have FLOWN by! There are now less than 3 weeks until the wedding and I'm kind of in a daze. Everything is done for the most part and announcements are in the mail. Andi and I have been doing the usual driving on our favorite road I-15 and we will be glad to only travel for a few special events rather than our regular weekend "events". This weekend is bridal pictures, the next weekend I will be in Lake Tahoe for a work conference and the next weekend is Andi's graduation, the wedding, a quick trip to Jackson Hole before we are back in Cedar for my graduation the next weekend, a few days to pack and then we are off to Europe!! It will be fun to visit Andi's host family in Germany, my mission in the Czech Republic and spend a few days in Italy before it will be time to settle in to our "normal" married life.

Check out the announcement picture. Kelli (Andi's sister) did a great job with the photography!

102 days and counting

Well, the wedding plans are in full swing. The date is set (April 28th), the Temple is booked, Andi has found the perfect dress, I guess all I have to do is show up! Right?! Okay, so there's a little bit more to it, but we are having fun so far. There's lots to do, and we are both getting ready to run the Canyonlands Half Marathon in Moab as well in March on my birthday. I'm just glad that I don't have to worry about going to school. It feels great to be done! 2007 is shaping up to be quite the year so far....

andi and i

It is great to be engaged. Yes, it has been less than a week, but it is such a relief to be able to talk about our future plans. 3 weeks of keeping it a secret from her was tough and I think it was pretty rough on her dad too. Her sister got engaged on Christmas and her fiance asked Andi's dad about an hour before I did. I bet he never thought he'd get hit up twice in one day from two bozo's who want to marry both his daughers...poor guy. I thought I'd post a picture of Andi and I for those who haven't met her (or me) yet. Feel free to e-mail us your addresses at canda.thomps@gmail.com. We've started working on our lists so if we don't get updated information for you it may go to your parents house, or your last known address--hopefully this isn't the MTC or in a foreign country!

she said yes!

Looks like this is it...the beginning of eternity! On Saturday, January 6, 2007 I asked Andrea (Andi) Hatch to marry me and she said yes! Well, not at first, her first comment was..."I'm wearing goggles!" You see, we were skiing and she never imagined that she would be wearing ski goggles when she got proposed to, and seeing how she didn't expect it at all it was quite a surprise. I love Andi a lot and I am very excited! The date is April 28th in the Timpanogos Temple!
