One Month

It was one month ago today that we both welcomed and said goodbye to our baby girl, Addison. It's hard to believe that it's already been that long. We've been keeping pretty busy and life really does just go on. Sometimes we talk about how strange it is. We were supposed to experience something that would be so life changing. I was going to quit at least one of my jobs, I wasn't supposed to be getting any sleep, Curtis was supposed to be coming home to a little girl who would eventually call him "daddy," we were supposed to be spending a good portion of our budget on diapers, and so many more things that would have probably come as a surprise to us. As it is, things aren't a whole lot different than they were before we got pregnant. Our day-to-day routine isn't much differnt. As true as that might be though, we have changed. We are different and we are stronger and we have a different perspective on life than we did before we were asked to go through this.
We really are so grateful to all the people who have been such a support to us. We have recieved so much love and kindness, so many cards, flowers, phone calls, and many prayers that we are certianly unaware of. A family in our ward told us today that they had been praying for us. I'm pretty sure that the kids don't even know who we are, but they still mention us by name in their prayers. We know this has been a strength to us.
There is no doubt that this has been hard. Even though we don't know how all the details will be worked out, we receive comfort in knowing that families are eternal.

Has it already been a month?! I just want to let you guys know how proud we are of you. You've been asked to go through the unimaginable, and you've handled it with such grace and perspective. Thank you for being so open and honest and for sharing your story (and beautiful pictures) with the rest of us.

I know that you hear this alot, but please let us know if you need anything; even if you would just like a night to babysit Emmy! ;)

Hey guys... seeing her pictures sure does bring back memories... good ones. Looking back I can feel a spiritual guidance and comfort through the whole experience. God sure has a plan, even if it isn't our plan. You have a beautiful daughter in your eternal family. How blessed we feel to be a part of your lives.

Oh Curtis'! She is so beautiful! My breath was literally taken away when I saw your sweet memory book and again when I saw your blog. I can't believe how much time has gone by already! Life sure is a mystery, but you two just keep inspiring us all.

I've been thinking about you every day since Addison and the only thing I can conclude about this entire thing is a)GOd is aware of you guys and b) You have to be one of the strongest women I know. YOu've been asked to pass through one of the most difficult challenges every to be parent fears and you are doing it with such grace and love. I admire you so much, love you big, and hope you know how touched I am by your example. If you haven't already, i would highly recommend you download Elder Hollands recent CES fireside talk that he gave about a week ago-- it is wonderful and comforting. Hang in there, you're doing great.

much love,,
